While earning my undergraduate degree, I had the wonderful opportunity to be a graphic design intern for the Yale School of Nursing. I worked with the school's director of public affairs to create design work for the school of nursing itself as well as various organizations that the Office of Public Affairs worked with. This included a local rotary club, a local church, and a group that travels to the Dominican Republic annually to provide support and aid to those in need. Below are some of the different items I created during my internship experience.
Yale School of Nursing 90 Years Logo
I had the pleasure of interning at the Yale School of Nursing during their 90th year, and this logo was created to help commemorate this incredible milestone. The logo was used for branding purposes on various marketing materials sent out by the organization during 2013 as well in their 90th anniversary celebration.
Lecture Event Flier
This flier I designed was for an event hosted by Yale School of Nursing. It was to be a simple, yet effective and informative flier about a team intelligence lecture. The flier was printed, distributed, and featured around the various offices and buildings within Yale School of Nursing. The foundation for this design layout was inspired by previous flier designs for this lecture, which occurs several times each year. I wanted to ensure that the different shades of blue used by Yale School of Nursing would compliment the flier while not taking away from the important information.
Wallingford Rotary Annual Golf Tournament
This is a logo for the annual Jim Backes Golf Tournament that is held by the Wallingford Rotary. This yearly event features all day rounds of golf, raffles, and a famous lobster dinner. The biggest feature of this logo is, of course, the lobster! The lobster was included in the original logo as well, but was holding a golf ball rather than the rotary logo. All proceeds for this event go towards the Wallingford Foundation, who makes donations to the local community in Connecticut. As a part of this design project, I also redesigned the brochure that is handed out to attendees at the event.
